Daughter of NFL broadcasting legend will have role in Trump administration

On Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump named Susie Wiles his chief of staff for when he is inaugurated in January.
Wiles helped lead Trump’s campaign to an eventual win over Vice President Kamala Harris on Election Day this week. She has been the co-chair of the former president’s campaign team since April.
Wiles, 67, is the daughter of NFL broadcast legend Pat Summerall, who called 16 Super Bowls and was in the booth alongside John Madden.
Summerall was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2010 and was given the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994. He died in 2013 at 82.
“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns,” Trump said in a statement.
Trump’s administration may soon have another NFL connection, if Jets owner Woody Johnson returns for a role. During Trump’s first term, Johnson served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, leaving younger brother Christopher Johnson in charge of the team.
